Our reply postage sponsorship with Navy Federal Credit Union has ended.
However, if you purchased a Letter bundle before July 31st, those letters will still include free reply postage, even if they are sent after the end of the campaign.
* Letter credits expire 6 months from the date of purchase
Who gets free reply postage after July 31?
Only users who purchased a Letter (or bundle) before July 31st will continue receiving free reply postage on those Letters.
To be clear:
✅ This applies to letters purchased before July 31st and sent from the purchasing account
❌ Does not apply to Letters received through Support Squad donations
❌ Does not apply to courtesy Letters sent due to FedEx delays or customer service exceptions (ex, returned letters or letters not received)
❌ Does not apply to Letters purchased after July 31, 2026
Troubleshooting System Prompts
If the system mistakenly prompts you to add reply postage:
Ignore the Prompt: Proceed with sending; free reply postage will be applied automatically.
Address Formatting: Ensure compliance with USPS standards to avoid misinterpretation.
Account Verification: Verify the account used aligns with the original purchase.
System Errors: Fees resulting from technical glitches can be reimbursed.
USPS Address Verification: Verify that your return address aligns with USPS standards to prevent issues with prepaid postage application.
Why is free reply postage ending?
Thanks to Navy Federal Credit Union, we were able to include more than 1.5 million free postage-paid envelopes to help families stay connected. That sponsorship ended on July 31, 2026, and the free postage is no longer available following the conclusion of the promotion. Beginning August 1, reply postage can be included as an add-on to each letter.
What options do I have going forward?
You can still help your recruit reply easily with two options:
Add Paid Reply Postage: $1.99 per Letter at checkout (in-app only)
Send a Book of Stamps: Purchase and ship directly via the Sandboxx Shop
How does paid reply postage work?
When added during checkout, we include a pre-addressed, prepaid envelope in your Letter so your recruit can write back without needing to purchase a stamp. It's important to note that this service provides convenience, but it does not expedite letter delivery times. The $1.99 fee ensures your recruit's return envelope includes a prepaid label, so they can send their reply conveniently without buying postage.
What if I don’t add reply postage?
Even without reply postage, your Letter will still include:
Stationery
A return-addressed envelope
Your recruit can still respond by supplying their own stamp or using stamps you send separately.
