At Sandboxx we are always working hard to listen to our Sandboxx customers and Sandboxx families. In this series, learn more about people who utilize Sandboxx to stay connected with their recruits and trainees. Here is Jeanne’s story about how Sandboxx helped her stay connected with her recruit:

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your recruit or your recent graduate. Where are you from? Which branch of the military is your recruit in?

I am a single mom. My son signed up for the Marines as a junior in highschool. He was a poolee for over a year to get him ready for boot camp and graduate highschool. He went to boot camp on 6/27 and we are from PA.

2. How did sending letters with Sandboxx help you connect and stay in touch with your recruit during basic training?

While he was in his first week of boot camp, I moved cross country to AZ. I immediately started sending letters as soon as I got his address which was almost within a week and 1/2. Using Sandboxx was extremely convenient for me while moving and just being able to send my letters via Sandboxx anywhere I was when traveling.

3. How did you first hear about Sandboxx? After using it for a while, what do you think about Sandboxx?

I heard about Sandboxx from other recruits mom’s. I think it is a great service. You can send photos along with your letters! I make a collage and send photos that way.

4. Any plans for your recruit after basic training? What’s next for you or for them?

He will most likely go back to PA for his 10-day leave and I will attend his graduation and then come back to AZ. He will have to go back for infantry training.
