At Sandboxx we are always working hard to listen to our Sandboxx customers and Sandboxx families. In this series, learn more about people who utilize Sandboxx to stay connected with their recruits. Here is Samira’s story about how Sandboxx helped her stay connected with her recruit:

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your recruit or your recent graduate. Where are you from? Which branch of the military is your recruit in?

My name is Samira and my bf/recruit’s name is Malik. We became friends in September 2021 and were talking for a while until he asked me to be his girlfriend in May 2022. When I found out he was enlisting in January, I was so scared and it felt like my worst nightmare came true. He calmed me down and I did tons of research so we both went into it without confusion. He is currently in his 6th week of basic training at Fort Sill, OK for the army.

2. How did sending letters with Sandboxx help you connect and stay in touch with your recruit during basic training?

Sending letters through Sandboxx has helped both of us so much. I was so worried about not being able to talk to him much until I found out about Sandboxx and sent my first letter. Not only did I get all the tracking information and was able to see where it was in the shipping process, but it got there overnight!! Sandboxx helps me feel like we’re both talking to each other and not just sending snail mail that takes forever to arrive. We both appreciate Sandboxx so much for helping us stay connected when we’re so far away.

3. How did you first hear about Sandboxx? After using it for a while, what do you think about Sandboxx?

I found out about Sandboxx through a text message that I got that I later found out was sent because my bf put me on the list of people to be notified. I was so ecstatic and happy and since I got the app, I’ve been nothing but grateful for the help of the customer service team and for having speedy deliveries🫶🏼. I have nothing but good things to say about Sandboxx and use it all the time😁.

4. Any plans for your recruit after basic training? What’s next for you or for them?

After BCT in Fort Sill, my bf will be going to Fort Lee, VA for AIT to become a wheeled vehicle mechanic(MOS 91B). After 4 months of that, he’ll be coming home for 2 weeks before shipping out to wherever he gets stationed to serve. He’ll be doing 2 years of active and when he comes back we’ll be moving in together❤️.
