Recruit Training Command (RTC) requires a Graduation access form to attend the graduation ceremony. This information is used to generate the access list for Graduation tickets. These tickets are always FREE; however, the number of tickets available per recruit is limited based on the size of the graduation group. Additionally, the access list is exclusively managed by the recruit through the Guest Security Access Form or Visitor Access Request Letter (VARL). Only the recruit can add or modify names on the list.
Arrive early on the graduation day to allow time for security checks and parking. Ensure all required documentation is prepared and make a checklist for ID and alternative IDs required for minors.
You can visit the RTC Great Lakes site to determine if your recruit's division is allowed 3 or 4 guests. To be granted access to the base, these forms must be filled out in advance of the graduation date. Forms should be submitted as early as possible in order to allow time to grant access.
Detailed visitor protocols, including schedules, parking information, and tips for navigating the events, are available via the official RTC graduation information page.
You can download the form and mail it to your recruit, or you can scan the QR code provided on the website and submit it online.
The tickets can be picked up at the Recruit Family Welcome Center, located at the Navy Exchange (NEX) Burkey Mall, 2650 Green Bay Road, North Chicago, IL 60088, during specific hours: the day before graduation (10:00 AM–7:30 PM) and the day of graduation (5:30 AM–8:30 AM). Guests must present valid photo IDs.
Note that only the recruit can submit these forms; family members or third parties cannot make changes or verify submissions.
Tickets are non-transferable; losing a ticket may result in denial of access to the base. It’s essential to follow the guidelines to avoid complications.
It is important to rely on your recruit for any additions or updates to ensure inclusion on the access list.
