Sandboxx letters are typically processed and shipped according to specific timelines and procedures. Below is a detailed explanation of Sandboxx shipping practices and common reasons for delays.

Sandboxx Letter Shipping Schedule

Sandboxx processes and ships letters based on the time they are submitted. Letters must meet the daily cutoff time of 4:30 PM EST, Monday through Thursday, to be shipped promptly:

  • Monday–Thursday Before 4:30 PM EST: Letters are printed and shipped via FedEx overnight delivery, arriving the next business day.

  • Friday Before 4:30 PM EST: Letters are printed and shipped, and delivery is scheduled on Monday due to weekend closures.

  • Friday After 4:30 PM EST and Saturday-Sunday: Letters are processed on the next business day (Monday) for scheduled delivery on Tuesday.

After being processed and printed, letters are shipped via FedEx to the military mailroom designated for distribution.

Exceptions for Certain Locations

For some locations, such as AG units or locations like Camp Lejeune, Sandboxx uses USPS for letter shipping instead of FedEx. This may affect the availability of tracking updates in the Sandboxx app.

Common Causes for Letter Shipping Delays

Several factors can lead to delays, even when letters are submitted on time:

  1. Holidays and Weekend Closures: Federal holidays (e.g., Memorial Day, Juneteenth) cause delays in processing and shipping since the print facility and mailrooms are closed. Letters are typically processed on the next available business day.

  2. Missed Cutoff Times: Letters submitted after 4:30 PM EST will be processed on the next business day, resulting in delayed shipping. For example, a Thursday submission at 8:31 PM EST will be shipped the following Monday.

  3. Incomplete Addresses: A missing battalion number or incomplete address information can prevent your letter from shipping. Make sure to verify the address details before submission.

  4. FedEx Delays or Issues: Mechanical issues, severe weather, or logistical errors such as missed final scans can occasionally delay the delivery of letters. Sandboxx aims to resolve such issues quickly and updates users via the app.

Shipment Status Discrepancies

Sometimes, it might appear that your letter has not shipped due to system delays in tracking updates. These updates may take some time but rest assured that letters are often in transit even if the status has not yet been reflected.

How to Verify Your Letter’s Status

  1. Check the Sandboxx app or your email for updated tracking information.

  2. Confirm that the recipient's address is complete and accurate.

  3. If your letter has been delayed for more than a day, consider potential external factors such as holidays or weather disruptions.

If you experience persistent issues, contact Sandboxx support for further assistance.

By adhering to these schedules and guidelines, you will better understand the shipping process, reduce potential delays, and ensure timely delivery of your Sandboxx letters.
