How to Send Letters to Service Members after Boot Camp using Sandboxx

Sandboxx makes it easy to stay connected with your service member throughout their military career, including during Advanced Individual Training (AIT), Tech School, School of Infantry (SOI), and A School. Below, we outline the key steps and considerations for sending letters during AIT.

Overview of Sandboxx Letter Services

  • Sandboxx supports sending letters to service members at all stages of their military career

  • Letters can be sent to military addresses, including APO, FPO, and DPO addresses overseas.

  • Letters are valid for six months from the date of purchase.

  • Delivery of these letters will be by USPS First Class Mail (without tracking).

Obtaining the Correct Address for Locations outside of Boot Camp

  • Sandboxx does not have access to mailing addresses for trainees after boot camp

  • You must wait for your service member to provide their new mailing address

  • Once your Active Duty member arrives for school, they will have a new address to share with you

Adding a New Recipient and Address in Sandboxx

Once you have the correct address, follow these steps to add it to your Sandboxx Address Book and send letters:

Using the Sandboxx App

  1. Tap Profile.

  2. Tap Add New Recipient.

  3. Enter the recipient's first and last name, then tap Continue.

  4. On the "Where is your letter going?" screen, tap I don’t see the location I’m looking for.

  5. Manually enter the school address and save.

Using the Sandboxx Website

  1. Click Profile on the left side.

  2. Select Add New Recipient under Address Book.

  3. Enter the recipient's first and last name, then click Continue.

  4. On the "Where is your letter going?" screen, click I don’t see the location I’m looking for.

  5. Manually enter the school address and save.

Notes on Delivery

  • Letters sent beyond boot camp, including those to AIT locations, are delivered via USPS regular mail.

  • Sandboxx supports sending letters to all duty locations throughout a service member’s career.

By following these steps, you can ensure your letters reach your service member during AIT and beyond. For additional assistance, consult the Sandboxx Help Center or contact customer support.
